Set to the original music of local repente singer Colibri, this is the inspiring story of a small band of poor landless workers from the backlands of Ceará in north-east Brazil. On the face of it the most unlikely revolutionaries, they are at the vanguard of a growing movement to reclaim land for the people. The Vaca Serrada rebels take on the might of the Carneiros, one of the state's most powerful landowning families, proclaiming that 'when God made the world, he didn't sell the land to anyone'. Their story tells not only of a battle for that land, but for human dignity.
