Synopsis
Mama Wata is the goddess that provides wealth to Sierra Leone. Goderich Bay (Freetown) is rich in fish. Idrissa fishes in those waters but he’s aware that he has to fight against foreign ships and the use of canoes as drug-running boats. The fish donated by Mama Wata assures Memuna’s ten children’s survival. Saffie was abandoned by her husband when she was 17 years old and with two children. Now she lives thanks to the support of the community. Suphie and Mustapha don’t have enough money to go to University. Both of them see immigration as a solution to their problems. The Children of Mama Wata is the daily life of the poorest of the world.
